3 Gut Friendly Ingredients

15/08/2017

You can count calories and macros all day, but eating a nutritious diet requires more than numbers. I definitely put my youthful looks (don’t laugh!) down to nourishing my body with perfect nutrition. For years I’ve made a conscious effort to reduce inflammation, cortisol and any triggers which can sabotage my health. You can tell a lot about a person’s health by checking their gut health markers, as Dr. Jason Watson will tell you. Below are 3 gut friendly ingredients I like to depend upon.

Apple Cider Vinegar & Fresh Organic Lemon Juice

Every morning I will consume apple cider vinegar mixed with organic lemon juice because of the many benefits it has on the gut. It helps remove bad bacteria, allow good bacteria to thrive and remove toxins from the body. It is one of the oldest health remedies used by medical practitioners from around the world and my gut is certainly better for it.

This will certainly put hairs on your chest!.

Naturally Fermented GLUTAMINE

GLUTAMINE is often used for its anti-catabolic properties which is great, but it’s also one of the best natural gut remedies in my opinion. Using only the most pure naturally fermented GLUTAMINE I will take it daily along with the above ingredients to help promote gut efficiency, so I can process nutrients more readily.

Pineapple

If I’m making my protein “mush” for breakfast I like to add some pineapple on top. For sure it tastes amazing, but there’s actually several health benefits to eating this fruit. Aside from the fact it is stacked with vitamins, pineapple contains bromelain which is a natural digestive enzyme which is linked with breaking down protein specifically. As I consume a lot of protein every day through diet and RE-KAGED (an extremely fast digesting hydrolysed whey isolate) it makes sense to help my gut break it down easily.
