​Burn Some Bridges

Burning bridges is a term I use to describe the distancing yourself from those around you who only bring negativity into your life. Naysayers, moaners and those who always play the victim. These people just eat away at you, painting a very bleak picture in your head until you start to believe it. They’ll always question why you need to train, eat healthy or go and do your cardio. This is just their way of making themselves feel better about the fact they aren’t doing anything.

This is how I would recommend you aim to set your social circle up, which includes burning bridges.

Like Minded People Win Together

Your social circle should represent your personal values and goals, being aligned with those around you makes for a more productive life. You don’t have time or energy to waste battling with somebody who is constantly challenging your choices and way of life. Aim to spend more time with people who think the same as you in 2017, and less with those who don’t.

Negativity Is Contagious

Negative thoughts are contagious, if you don’t believe me spend a day listening to somebody complain non-stop and you’ll quickly see what I’m telling you is true. You don’t need to spend your life being around this, so move away from it even if it means burning bridges. Positivity is the same, so focus on spending more of your time around that and it will reflect in your life.

Replace The Old With The New

It’s not going to be easy to cut ties, even if you know it is the right thing to do. However by looking to fill this void with a positive replacement will in time make things easier on you, so have the courage to strive forward knowing you’re making a better life for yourself.
